STRATEC’s Reagent Rack and Bay system is a flexible and smart module for reagent loading and storage in fully automated analyzers. Autonomous reagent racks are equipped with flexible agitation functionality and a read/write RFID technology for reliable reagent identification and management. Inserted racks are automatically recognized and designed for independent rack agitation on the loading bay. Rack-specific agitation profiles enable the mixing speed to be configured for each lane.

One mixing motor enables magnetic particles to be re-suspended on two agitation sides per rack. A wireless power and data transfer between racks and loading bay facilitate the safe on-board handling of two assays per rack. No barcode scanners are required and integrated RFID antennas retrieve reagent-specific information from STRATEC’s primary reagent package, the reagent cartridge.
