- China location
STRATEC Biomedical (Shanghai) is founded in China. By opening a production facility in Shanghai, STRATEC will continue to secure access to the Chinese market for its customers.
2023
- Location Diatron APAC Region
Diatron MI APAC Private Limited is founded in New Delhi, India. Opening a sales office in India strengthens the partnership with the APAC region, which is of significant importance to the company.
- Acquisition of Natech Plastics Inc.
Acquisition of Natech Plastics, Inc., in Ronkonkoma, NY/USA. By acquiring Natech, STRATEC further expands its presence in the US. Natech’s complementary consumables portfolio, together with new target markets, offers a perfect addition to STRATEC’s business model, which focuses on OEM partnerships.

The company is listed in the SDAX, a select index at the German Stock Exchange.
2018
- Societas Europaea, SE
In November 2018, the company changes its legal form to a European stock corporation (Societas Europaea, SE) with the name STRATEC SE.
2016
- Acquisition of Sony DADC BioSciences (nowadays STRATEC Consumables)
Acquisition of Sony DADC BioSciences, now STRATEC Consumables in Anif, Austria. With this acquisition STRATEC extends its portfolio to include highly complex polymer-based consumables.
- Acquisition Diatron MI
Acquisition of Diatron MI PLC, Budapest, Hungary. Diatron develops and manufactures hematology and clinical chemistry analyzers and reagents.

STRATEC Biomedical Systems S.R.L. is founded in Romania

Robion AG, now STRATEC Switzerland AG, is founded in Beringen, Switzerland.

- Publicly traded company
STRATEC becomes a publicly traded company

- Automation Platform
Development work begins on an automation platform for microplate applications.
1993
- New systems
Systems for bio- and chemi-luminescence and coagulation applications are launched.
1989
- Automated luminescence analyzer
The world’s first fully automated luminescence analyzer is developed, marking the company’s successful entry into the in-vitro diagnostics market.
1987
- Medical systems
First medical systems are developed.
1979
- Founding
STRATEC is founded in Birkenfeld, Germany, with the guiding principles “consistent deployment of microelectronics in industry, quality, and functionality”. The very first product was a fill-level control system for industrial applications.
