As a technology company, we focus above all on technical and natural sciences disciplines for our extensive smart consumables development department. Examples here include physicists, chemists, biologists, plastics technologists, mechatronics engineers, engineers and technicians with a wide variety of specializations, as well as people with supplementary psychological or humanities qualifications. The technical department, which includes both operations and development activities, comprises around 50 employees. In addition, we have a project management department that is responsible for the conception, development, and implementation of new products in cooperation with our customers. Alongside our development departments, we also offer interesting roles in our commercial departments. After all, no company can function without HR, finance, IT, and procurement departments. They keep our company’s motor running. One particularly important area is production and the production-related departments at our location in Anif. We owe our great ability to individualize products for our customers to the skills of our colleagues working at the machines and in manual packaging.

- How would you describe your start at STRATEC?
As I started at Sony in 2003, it was more of a switch from disc production to the medical business for me. For me personally, it was very easy to do so, as I already knew many of the employees and was already familiar with the technologies
- What kind of development have you experienced at STRATEC so far?
My development in the company has spanned from shift technician when I joined to today, where I am responsible for the core processes as an Engineer Manager.
- What are your main tasks and what do you particularly enjoy?
One of my main responsibilities is the continous improvement of our technical processes and the implementation of new technologies for our customer requirements. Constantly rethinking these challenges together with the team is what is really fun at work.
Dafni
- How was your start at STRATEC?
My previous job was in science. In 2023, I decided to join STRATEC since I wanted to put my expertise in polymers to good use in an industrial sector that is not only sustainable, but also socially useful and forward-looking for developments in healthcare. I was hired as an engineer in the Technology and Innovation department and quickly found my place in various projects.
- How have you developed at STRATEC so far?
In my first year at the company, I was appointed head of a development project and manage the public funding projects. I am constantly learning new aspects of the sector and acquiring new skills, which is very important to me as I am driven by curiosity.
- What are your main tasks and which ones do you enjoy the most?
As an engineer, I spend half of my time “on the front”, doing practical experiments, measurements and prototyping. However, as a project manager, I also spend time brainstorming with colleagues, task planning, process design and turning our findings into useful applications. My favorite part about the job is the “tada” moments when our efforts bear fruit.

Lisa-Marie
- How was your start at STRATEC?
I started as a trainee at STRATEC in 2015 and the start was very easy due to the comprehensive orientation plan at STRATEC, which makes it easy to gain an overview of everything.
- How were you able to develop thus far at STRATEC?
I completed my apprenticeship as a mechatronics technician at STRATEC and had the opportunity to do an apprenticeship with a university entrance qualification. I am now an apprentice trainer for mechatronics engineers.
- Which are your main tasks and what do you most enjoy?
We in Automation Team build handling systems for our own production. It is a very exciting task since we are always developing and building different machines.
